Tips to Boost Blog Traffic

Let’s talk about traffic. We know you want it. Without it, your new blog won’t get anywhere.

But as a new blog, you don’t want to spend tons of time or money getting that traffic. The truth is you don’t have to do either of those things. Here are some easy tactics that will help you boost blog traffic.

Tactic #1: Update Often

This means consistently posting new content, preferably on a set day. The consistent part satisfies Google. New content shows them that your blog is active and relevant. The second day part will satisfy your readers. It will give them an idea of when they should be expecting something new, and when they should return to your blog.

Updating often also includes going back and updating your old posts. I know this isn’t really relative for a brand-new blog, but if your blog has aged enough, go back and update really old posts. This will show Google they’re still important, and is an instant way to boost blog traffic.

Tactic #2: Make It SEO Friendly

While keyword tactics have changed over the years, making sure that your blog is SEO friendly is still relevant. Pick a few keyword phrases (not single keywords, but phrases) that you want to focus on and place them in your content where it makes sense. It is important that your keywords are used in a manner that sound good – and not just sprinkled haphazardly into your blog posts.

Tactic #3: Blog Commenting

 Want to really drive interested readers back    to  your blog?  You can do this by commenting  on other  blogs in your niche.  Pick top blogs  that have a good  amount of traffic and  dedicated readers, readers  that you know are  already  interested in the focus of  your blog.  Visit these blogs and  leave comments on  their posts. To really get attention, these  comments  can’t be short one-liners. They  need to be thought-  driven and add some sort  of value to the blog post      itself.  The readers of  the blog will notice your  comment and will    naturally want to check out more  of what you have to say. Done right, blog commenting is a free and a very effective way to boost blog traffic.

Tactic #4: Share Your Posts

This should go without saying, but don’t forget to share your post on social media. The simple act of getting online and sharing your own posts can really help boost blog traffic. If you have a good rapport with other bloggers in your niche, you can also ask them to share your posts. This works as long as you reciprocate and do them the favor of sharing their posts too.
